Where the old meets the new – a garden.
Stopped today walking along Russell Street in South Brisbane, to grab a photo of this hidden garden.
The garden I’ve noticed regularly, but only realised today how it connects the glistening new convention centre with what once must have been the railway bridge over Russell Street between the South Brisbane and South Bank railway stations.
I like that they haven’t tried to disguise the differences between the two structures, as well as enjoying the foresight that made use of the interstitial space for a garden.
