It must be heading in to winter. First time I’ve seen the pools and beach at South Bank, Brisbane deserted during daylight hours this year.

I don’t know what it is about tunnels but I’m often fascinated by them.

I think part of it is that it is a very urban thing to have tunnels either taking traffic from one point to another under the city, or as in this case, taking pedestrians from one side of a major highway to another.

This is the tunnel under the Bradfield Highway in Brisbane.

Industrial abseiling – now that sounds like a job. Crossing the Goodwill Bridge I noticed teams of abseilers over the side of the bridge painting the superstructure.
